What Pouches Do You Need for Your Kit?
There is not one correct answer to what pouches you should include on your plate carrier, chest rig, battle belt, etc. Each person will build their load out to fit their situation and needs. You should set up your plate carrier however it works best for you. Depending on your situation you might need more or less gear than someone else. You can run your tactical gear with a minimalist design or load it up and carry more items. You need to assess the use case for your plate carrier and decide what pouches and items you need. Then go find the tactical gear pouches that you are comfortable using.

While your plate carrier should be set up to your preference and needs, there are three things that every tactical kit should include. Those three things would be: Body Armor, Magazine Pouch, and Individual First Aid Kit. How and where you carry each of these items is dependent upon your preference. How many magazines you carry or how much medical gear can also vary depending on your situation and needs. These three items build a base for any plate carrier set up. You can add more pouches and accessories to fit your needs. First start with the basics and get body armor, a magazine pouch, and an IFAK. Then go ahead and start adding some other pouches as you see fit.

Lastly get out and train with your kit. If you don't use it then you wont know what you like and don't like. Also you will want to know where your gear is located when you need it. If you are looking for your mag pouch when you need to perform a mag change then you are going to be very slow getting your firearm reloaded. In a medical emergency you do not want to be looking for your IFAK. These are things that need to be second nature. Get out there train and start adding some pouches and accessories to your kit.
